Adrian Valenzuela

Former Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Equities Distribution, JP Morgan.

Adrian Valenzuela is Co-Founder and CEO of MCM Partners. He relocated to Hong Kong in early 2011 and joined Barclays Capital as a Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Equity Liquid Markets across the Asia Pacific Region. He played a central role in the firm’s expansion, participating in the hiring of circa 200 staff recruited across sales, trading and research. He was a member of the Global Equities Management Committee, Asia Sales Management Committee, and Asian Equities Executive and Management Committees.

He previously worked for JP Morgan from early 2007 and had several promotions during his time, latterly co-heading the global distribution across cash equities and equity derivatives for the equity division. He was part of the Global Equities Executive Committee, Equity Derivatives Global Management Committee and the Global Cash Equity Management Committee. He managed a sales force of over 500 sales professionals across the globe, delivering sales, trading and advisory to global institutional investors and corporations across equity products.

Between 2006 and 2007, Adrian ran the Alpha Strategies Group for Merrill Lynch International, working on advisory projects for various institutional investors across asset classes, and coordinating the strategic marketing campaigns across the equity division.

In 2005, he was a Founding Partner and Head of Marketing and Product Development for Wealth Management Group (WMG), an alternative asset management firm. He worked extensively in new fund development and capital-raising for various funds.

Previously, Adrian worked at Lehman Brothers International as Head of Pan-European Flow Derivatives Sales, including the coverage of global hedge funds for European derivative markets. He also worked at Morgan Stanley New York from 1998 until 2002 as Head of Equity Derivative Sales for Latin America and in the derivatives sales team for US hedge funds. In early 2002, he transferred to London as a senior salesperson for the European Hedge Fund Sales Desk for equity derivatives, also heading the sales teams for Southern Europe and France.

Adrian holds a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico, as well as various other certificates and degrees, including graduating from the Stanford University Senior Leadership Program. He began his career in emerging markets, trading fixed income securities for Santander from 1991 through 1994, later moving to ING Barings as part of their equities, equity strategy and equity derivatives teams.

Vivian Liu brings over 12 years of operational and strategic experience to MCM Partners. She oversees the firm's day-to-day operations, risk management, and compliance functions. Prior to joining MCM, Vivian held senior positions at leading financial institutions in Asia, where she specialized in operational efficiency and strategic partnerships.

Angie Ma

CEO of MCM Investment Partners

Angie has more than 20 years of experience in global wealth management and private banking. Her career spans New York, Singapore and Hong Kong with major global banks namely Merrill Lynch, UBS and Credit Suisse where she held senior leadership roles as Managing Director and Market Leader for China. Prior to joining MCM, she was Vice Chair and Managing Director of Bank J Safra Sarasin Client Advisory. At MCM, she is CEO of MCM Investment Partners, leading the growth of our asset management business, as well as working closely with the group CEO in firm-wide strategic initiatives. Angie earned Master of International Affairs with concentration in international banking and finance from Columbia University in the City of New York.

Katherine Williams

Head of Strategy

Katherine has over 20 years of experience in Financial services on both the buy and sell side with a focus on Asian equity and credit markets. Prior to joining MCM Partners, Katherine worked at OCP Asia Limited (Formerly Stark Investments) for close to 10 years where she was the Head Trader and was responsible for all trading across a multi-product platform. She was also involved in Investor Relations and assisting with the marketing of new funds and the development of new alternative products. She previously also worked at JP Morgan Chase for close to 10 years, starting in the Internal Consulting group and later in the Derivatives Middle Office and prior to leaving JP Morgan Chase was in the Equity Derivatives and Delta One Sales team responsible for the sales and marketing of Asian market access and derivative products. Katherine graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a BA in International Relations and Japanese.

Wenbin Dong

Partner of MCM Investment Partners

Before re-joining MCM Partners, Wenbin worked as Managing Director for AVIC Capital International, the international investment platform of AVIC, a leading central SOE of China, in charge of private equity investment. From 2012 to 2014, Wenbin worked as the Sales Director for Sumberg Advisory, a leading independent research house in Mainland China. Sumberg is renowned for its research on macroeconomics, TMT and thematics. He was also in charge of TMT research, serving the largest institutional investors and sovereign funds across the Mainland. Wenbin started his career with AXA Investment Managers (Investment Solutions Department) before moving to Sociétés Générales in Paris, working on fixed income pricing. Wenbin holds a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from l’Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) in Toulouse, France.
